Daily Reflections:

Day 1:
Thinking back over the day what I valued most was the star gazing I did with my peers as we looked into the telescope to look at the galaxies and stars far away from Earth. One of the things that surprised me was how many stars that could be seen if the area around us was dark at night. It is really quite cool to look at the stars through a telescope. I really admire the way the people we talked to today about the stars were really passionate about what they were talking about and seem to know a lot of knowledge. It was heartwarming to see that. I believe that as long as we have a passion for something we love, we should always continue to pursue it. When I heard what the others in my group thought I was surprised because I never knew some of my friends knew so much about stars that I have no idea about. I hope I can learn to love what I am doing, and do what I love in the future.

Day 2:
Thinking back over the day what I valued most was the Tech Dome experience where I went through many interesting exhibits that made me learn many things. One of the things that surprised me was the innovation and creative ideas the exhibition creators had when creating these fun and interesting exhibits that was really fun to experience. What I have learnt today reminds me about how Singapore’s science centre could have done better when it came to creating interesting exhibits that everyone could enjoy and learn from. Singapore should really learn from Tech Dome, Penang. I believe that as long as there are hands-on and interesting experiences, the person would understand and learn the science concepts fully. I like to consider others points of view because it is really interesting to hear other people’s perspective as many people have different ways to solve problems and we could combine our ideas to have an ideal solution to the problem. In the future I would like to see more interesting and fun exhibits that everyone can enjoy in Singapore Science Centre.

Day 3
The most important event that happened for me today was learning more about the school's observatory and learning about how high resolutions of photos of the moon is taken. Something I would like to find more about is how Singaporeans could get photos of the stars, sun and moon at a low cost. I learn best when the teacher explains the topic fully, and is really passionate about the subject he or she is talking about, just like the astronomers I met today. I agree with the astronomers that it takes a great deal of patience to take pictures of the moon and sun. When I heard what the others in my group thought I was surprised because I never knew some of the ideas my friends had that were quite interesting. In the future I would like to learn more about astronomy, as it is quite interesting.

Day 4
The most important event that happened for me today was learning about the culture of Penang, mainly their food. One of the things that surprised me was the rich culture of Penang, Malaysia. It is really interesting. Something I have found out about myself is that I am actually quite interested in the culture of other countries and that I would like to find out more about Penang. I learn best when I am interested in the topic I am being taught about. My point of view is Penang has a rich culture and history that is worth exploring. In the future I would like to learn more about the culture of Penang as well as other places in the world.
